I tried the fix for the problem in your post just for the heck of it. I hate the HP processes that run in the background. They have always been such boggers. I remember back in the day when they put out some of their first stuff. It was real challenging to those systems. There were so many people bringing in their systems thinking there was something wrong with them and it was all because of that. They still bog down even today's systems. Don't get me wrong though. HP makes some of the best stuff, especially printers and I use them myself. I just keep all that background stuff disabled.
